Three more days!

Adrian is no longer sick! Since yesterday he his back to his normal, happy, energetic self. It broke our hearts to see him so sleepy all the time and not being able to eat…he lost at least a pound or two over the weekend, which for a child his size is a lot of weight to lose! You can see all his ribs and spine poking through and his tummy is sunken in. I feel like a bad mom who doesn’t have enough money to feed my baby…but of course I know that is not true. He’s been making up for not eating by nursing like crazy the past two days. Pretty much all day and all night, as much as he can get. It is good that he’s nursing a lot, as the longer he nurses at a time the fattier my milk gets, but I’m ready to sleep more at night and have a chance to sit down without a baby at my boob.

We got Adrian goats milk today to try. He started out being excited to drink milk from a cup, but then once he saw that it was white and he didn’t know what it was he said “no milk” and pushed the cup away. We’ll keep trying, maybe one day he’ll like it 🙂 We took him to Peacock Lane tonight to see the Christmas lights (www.peacocklane.net). He pretty much just hung out in his stroller and took them all in. I thought he might be a little more excited about so many lights, but not tonight. It then took him an hour to fall asleep once we were in bed…

Only three more days until we leave for Arizona! I’ve been talking to Adrian about how we’re going to go in a plane on Friday, and now he’ll repeat after me all the names of everyone we’re going to see. We’re getting pretty excited over here. I think Dylan’s going crazy out of anticipation. I’m glad for him that he’s going to stay an extra week, I think it will be good for him to spend that extra time with his family and friends without worrying about me and Adrian. He’ll just get to be his old self again for a while.

Alright, well I think I’ll head to bed now. Dylan’s watching some dumb show on TV and Adrian’s snoozing, so I’m going to go join him in bed 🙂

    Hey there,
So I thought of sending an email, but I thought it might be more exciting to write a comment on your blog. Hope you get to it soon.
Today, I got a picture text from my aunt who just had her baby. You remember Trace and John, the ones we had Thanksgiving with one year?
It was so exciting to get that message, I just had a smile on my face the whole way home. Even though I don’t know if I’ll ever be ready to be a mommy, I can finally share in the joy of new life with people from my own family.
Speaking of, I wish I got to see you and Adrian more. He’s such a sweet little boy, and I love how happy you are with him.

So I started dating a girl and I’m pretty excited about it. I feel like I’ve been coming out for years now, and it finally feels right. She’s awesome and makes me smile and want to kiss her all the time. She just brings this bright light into my life.

Anyway, I’m heading up north tomorrow for the holidays, so I’m sending you my love and good wishes…give the little man some big hugs for me!

    Love you,
    D
